The Subsectors minimal invasive surgery, remote monitoring and digital therapeutics are mainly represented in the pitches of the Startups.

All of the startups‘ innovations are related to artificial intelligence and operate in the following areas:

  • micro cameras and supplementary technology (minimal invasive surgery)
  • Diabetis treatment by Engineered Micro Pancreas (EMP)
  • contact-free monitoring of human vital signs
  • biotechnology for precision medicine technology

Betalin Therapeutics seeks to eliminate the need for insulin injections and glucose testing in diabetes patients with its proprietary transplanted Engineered Micro Pancreas (EMP). The EMP technology helps create connective tissue that enables the body’s beta cells to function properly and produce adequate and functional insulin.

Betalin Therapeutics licensed the novel EMP technology developed at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem, Israel, in an exclusive worldwide agreement in 2015. The Hebrew University continues to partner with Betalin Therapeutics to support the research and development.

Sonovia produces a sono-fishing technology, which is scientifically proven to provide active protection against viruses, bacteria and funghi at over 99% efficacy.

Neteera is focused on bridging the gap between the analog and digital worlds by enabling seamless, continuous, and contact-free monitoring of human vital signs.

Neteera’s micro-radar-on-chip and proprietary algorithms can detect microscopic skin motions through clothing. This takes place at a very high frequency, allowing for noninvasive, seamless, continuous monitoring of human vital signs such as heart and respiration rates, heart rate variability, inhale–exhale ratio, and tidal volume, and many more features under development.

The company’s technology is non-vision-based (camera-free) and the company ensures that all information obtained is completely anonymized, providing ultimate privacy. Collected data is stored in the Neteera HIPAA- and GDPR-compliant cloud for further analysis, EMR/EHR integration, and future decision support mechanisms.

Neteera’s technology is is clinically validated with an FDA 510(k) Class I exemption and a 510(k) Class II planned in 2021. The company is globally recognized as disruptive and innovative and was ranked 9th out of 1,350 companies in CNBC’s 2020 Disruptor 50 list.
