The Black Forest Baar Clinic Villingen-Schwenningen (SBK) is an academic teaching hospital of the University of Freiburg. With approximately 3,000 employees and 1,000 beds at two locations, it is one of the largest central hospitals in southern Baden-Württemberg, one of the ten largest non-university hospitals in Baden-Württemberg and one of the 80 largest in Germany.
With 26 highly specialised main departments and two inpatient departments, mostly at university medical level, the facility offers a future-oriented range of services comparable to “maximum care”. Among other things, the high-performance central clinic includes centres for diabetes and oncology as well as the following service areas: Cardiology, geriatric medicine, intensive care as well as general and visceral surgery.
As a founding member of the Association for “Quality and Management in Hospitals” (QuMiK), the central provider devotes itself with particular intensity to the subject of quality. In addition, the SBK offers various qualifications as a recognised training centre.
