For more than 10 years, the private university in Triesen has been the only university in the region providing students with a doctorate in medical science. The doctorate study «Dr. scient. med.» of the UFL provides the participants with methods and concepts of medical science and prepares them for a professional life predominantly in clinically oriented research.
The internationally recognized and accredited doctoral program is for graduates with a degree in human medicine, dentistry, biology, biochemistry, biophysics, pharmacology or sports science, nutritional sciences, psychology.
Through international cooperation and exchange with other universities and research facilities, the UFL is a well-networked partner. Among other things, the UFL has been working closely with the Vorarlberg Institute for Vascular Investigation and Treatment (VIVIT) for more than ten years and they are establishing a «doctorate college for cardiometabolic medicine».
In addition, the UFL offers postgraduate and extra-occupational education programs, e.g. scientific writing. With its well-known «Health and Life Sciences» lecture series, the UFL brings exciting speakers and dialogue partners together in one place, thus involving the public in scientific discourse.
