Private Universität im Fürstentum Liechtenstein

The Private University in the Principality of Liechtenstein (UFL) is a state-recognized and institutionally accredited university based in Triesen. Through its two faculties, the Faculty of Medical Sciences and the Faculty of Law, UFL offers part-time doctoral programs as well as continuing academic education programs and professional development courses.

Its study model is designed to combine academic qualifications with professional careers. Research activities are organized within four research institutes and one research center: the Institute of Laboratory Medicine (ILM), the Institute of Translational Medicine (ITM), the Institute of Liechtenstein Law and Legal Theory (ILRR), the Institute of European and International Law (IEVR), and the UFL International Center for Intellectual Property and Innovation Law. Research activities range from basic and translational research and laboratory medicine to legal issues with an international focus. UFL collaborates with universities, research institutions, clinics, and other partners both nationally and internationally. Research and academic qualification are closely interconnected, with doctoral candidates actively involved in ongoing research projects.

Through public event series such as Health and Life Sciences and the Triesen Science Dialogues (Wissenschaftsgespräche Triesen), UFL makes current research accessible to a broad audience and promotes exchange between academia, professional practice, and society.
