Klinikum der Universität München (LMU)

The Institute for Laboratory Medicine at the University Hospital of Munich (LMU) is the central laboratory for the laboratory diagnostic care of the University Hospital of Munich at the locations Großhadern and City Centre. Based on a wide range of parameters of basic and special diagnostics, more than 8 million laboratory analyses are performed annually. The research focus of the institute is on the following areas:

  • Atherosclerosis and metabolism
  • Clinical mass spectrometry
  • Vascular Biology and Pathology
  • Neurobiochemistry and Psychopharmacology
  • Proteases

The chair is also responsible for the training of medical students at the LMU in clinical chemistry and laboratory medicine.
