The Kantonsspital St.Gallen (KSSG) is the central hospital in Eastern Switzerland. In addition, the outpatient care centers in Rorschach and Flawil are fully integrated components of the hospital at all levels - medically, logistically and in terms of personnel. As one of the largest hospitals in Switzerland, the Kantonsspital St.Gallen not only provides basic care for the population of the city of St.Gallen and the neighboring regions, but also acts as a center for the inhabitants of the entire canton of St.Gallen and several neighboring cantons.

The Cantonal Hospital of St.Gallen also performs extensive educational tasks and offers officially recognized basic, advanced and further training in all the medical disciplines represented. The Cantonal Hospital of St.Gallen is a cooperative partner of all institutions involved in healthcare in the region and is actively involved in pioneering research projects: Every year, more than 400 scientific papers are published at the Cantonal Hospital of St.Gallen and more than 200 clinical studies are currently being conducted. The hospital's resident medical research center (including a Clinical Trials Unit) is committed to improving the treatment of patients and driving forward medical innovations.
