BioLAGO joins the pioneering CEBR cluster association

BEL-Brussels / D-Constance | CEBR is a renowned network of life science clusters and regional ecosystems from all over Europe. Within the CEBR network, over 45 members and hundreds of cluster partners from all over the world work hand in hand to strengthen knowledge transfer, provide sustainable support to companies in the healthcare sector and boost Europe's competitiveness in the global economy. The BioLAGO healthcare network has now joined this central cluster association as a new member, once again demonstrating high relevance as an active player in the healthcare industry across regional borders.

The mission of CEBR (Council of European Bioregions) is to create a Europe-wide platform for the development of networks in the life science and healthcare industry and to strengthen cooperation between cluster players. In this way, CEBR contributes to increasing the visibility of clusters and bioregions and focuses on their important contribution to sustainable economic growth in Europe. The support of small and medium-sized life science and healthcare companies is at the center of all activities of the CEBR network.

"Since its foundation in 2008, BioLAGO has been a growing network for the regional healthcare industry actively driven by its members. BioLAGO represents around 160 members from the diagnostics, medical technology, pharmaceutical and health IT sectors. 80% of our BioLAGO members are small and medium-sized companies. This makes the high-tech SME sector a key factor for the BioLAGO network. I am proud that our efforts to promote the regional, cross-border healthcare industry have now been recognized by being accepted into the prestigious circle of CEBR members in Europe. I am sure that we will use this new partnership for the benefit of our members and thus make an active contribution to strengthening our economic region," explains Prof. Martin Elmlinger, Chairman of the Board of BioLAGO e.V.

In the future, BioLAGO's cooperation with the other members of the CEBR network will be multifaceted. In addition to working groups active throughout Europe on the topics of production, internationalization, visibility and funding projects, exchange meetings and online workshops will also take place in order to get to know Europe-wide partners and initiate innovation projects.

"We are delighted that BioLAGO has seized the opportunity and became a member of the CEBR network. With BioLAGO, the four-country region of Lake Constance is now also present with us as a dynamic growth region in Europe," says Dr. Montse Daban, President of the CEBR Board of Directors.

By raising awareness among decision-makers at regional, national and European level, CEBR is making an important contribution to the sustainable growth of life science clusters such as BioLAGO. From now on, the partners will work together to promote the stable further development of European companies in the life and health sciences.
