Fraunhofer IGB

The Fraunhofer Institute for Interfacial Engineering and Biotechnology IGB in Stuttgart is a research and development partner for customers from industry and the public sector.

At the IGB, research and development is carried out in the fields of molecular diagnostics, personalised medicine, molecular biotechnology, cell and tissue engineering, coatings and biomaterials for medical technology, and biobased chemicals, among others. The institute employs around 250 people in Stuttgart (headquarters) and at the institute branches in Leuna, Straubing and Würzburg. The department "Infection Biology and Array Technology" is involved in the DiagNET-AG "Multiresistant Pathogens" and the differentiation of viral and bacterial (fungal) infectious diseases.
